A fire alarm system is a very important part of the fire protection and life safety equipment of a building and its occupants. Fire alarm systems can vary from simple to complex. The level of complexity of fire depends on what hazard requires to be protected. It is crucial for people’s lives to keep the fire alarm system maintained in conformance with CAN/ULC-S536 and as required by the Ontario Fire Code. The main purpose of the Fire Alarm System is to warn people of a fire condition to save their lives; the overall design criteria are to ensure continuing reliability. Annual inspections are a legal requirement just about everywhere in Canada. Fire alarm devices should be checked after installation, after a fire, and at scheduled times based on guidelines established by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), and the manufacturer. The results of the inspection procedures should be diligently documented. The ISP provides the following services for the Fire Alarm System:
- Annual/Monthly Inspections as per CAN/ULC-S536
- Fire Panel Servicing
- Fire Panel Installation
- Third Party Verification as per CAN/ULC-S537
- ULC Monitoring (ULC Listed) CAN/ULC-S561
